New York, NewYork.....

Well this past Thursday I got to see my oldest baby (and yes I am crying as I'm writing this). Chase called Tuesday and said that this was a once in a life time happening and that it may not happen again and that Ryan and I should go and see her play. With those words uttered my heart leaped and I was making plans to go see my "pumpkin head" Got plane tickets and a hotel room, Ryan came home from school told him he was taking a four day weekend. Well his reaction was great! He he was soo excited to get to see his sister but I think he was even more excited to have a four day weekend!!
I took care of getting everything ready for us to go, Called the football coach to make sure it was okay for him to miss a practice got Andrew to take care of the doggies for me and set the alarm for 4am so that we can make our flight and off we went to surprise Corey!
The plane was late taking off and then delayed in the air but we made it. I had to hail a cab for the first time in my life that was a little nerve wracking but Ryan and I did it. Then we were on the road to see Core. I texted her that there would be a package at the front desk about the time she would go to lunch. That she needed to pick it up right when it got there. She was sceptical but said okay. When we were pulling up to the dorm I called her and told her the guy called and said he delivered it and that she should go down and pick it up right now! Well when she got down to the desk Ryan and I were standing there and the look on her face was priceless. We all started crying. I Love My Pumpkinhead!!!! We went up to her room and talked and she made us tea and hot chocolate God I just miss being around her! We went to lunch at Chipoltle, dropped her off at the room then went to check in at our hotel.
After we checked in Ryan and I laid down for a bit before we had to be at the game. Corey took a nap at the dorm before she had to get ready.
Ryan and I left for the game at 6 the game didn't start till 8:30 we just wanted to make sure that we would get there since we were taking the subway all by ourselves. The concierge at the hotel was absolutely NO help. We had to figure it out by ourselves. When we got off at our stop we were too far south of the NYU campus so I asked a Fed Ex guy to point us in the right direction and we walked the rest of the way there. We ended up in a section of town that had sex shops all up and down the street. Ryan was trying hard not to look but they were everywhere. It was cute when we saw Corey how he described it.
When we finally got to the NYU Campus for the game we were an hour early. Mind u we only had to train stops before we got off and walked 45 minutes in circles and the wrong way before I asked for directions. They have a huge gym it's two stories deep. When you get in you go down instead of up. Pretty neat. It also covered the entire block. At least it seemed like it, maybe half the block.
The game finally started at 9pm, they lost, they seemed to be too nervous. They had an award ceremony after and got a nice trophy for having made it as far as they did. They were #1 in their conference and won the conference playoffs. Corey made rookie of the year and first team all conference.
So, we went after the game to hole in the wall place called s'mac that made the best macaroni and cheese for some comfort food. Then went back to the hotel as it was 11:30 eastern time and waaaaay past my bedtime. :) Mind you Ryan and I had been up since 4am central time. I hit that king size bed and fell instantly asleep. I don't know when Corey and Ryan fell asleep but I think soon after me.
What a day!

Tuesday Evening

Well it's 10:18 and well past my bedtime. I am sitting here wondering why I am not asleep yet. I am usually in bed by by 9pm every night but these last two nights I have been wide awake. I have been reading trying to go to sleep but to no avail. Maybe I will read Stephanie's email again about numerology and try to do what it says to do because tomorrow is 11-11-2+0+0+9=11 supposed to be pretty powerful day.
Today I got tickets for Ryan and I to go see Corey play in the NCAA regionals for division III volleyball. We haven't told her. I want to surprise her. We are leaving on Thursday morning and coming home Saturday morning in time to get to Ryan's football game at 10:30am in Michigan City. His team is winning their playoffs and this is game 3. If they win then the next weekend we go to Indy. Could be exciting!
I don't know what happened but things are finally clicking with Ryan. His teacher actually wrote me and said that he is doing great. No more D-'s Hopefully it will stay this way. He is finally learning he gets more when he does better.
Today started out pretty stressful. I don't normally let things get to me but I had a lot to do before I went to talk to a gentleman about being an inspector for us. I think he just might work out. He is an electrician and an ac person. So this could be good and he wants to go to open houses on Sundays. Well I think writing this is finally putting me to sleep. :) Goodnight

TGIF!

Yeah! It's Friday and BUNCO night!!! A night out with the ladies having fun! I need this after Chase being gone for 11 days. I am not complaining though because he has been home for about two months with no flying. Just a note on the side the Russian account might be going away at the end of this month (Sept.) so who knows what is going to happen now. Maybe we will move in with Steph and family? :-] That would be a hoot! 6 dogs and 6 adults, 4 kids. (Just joking around) Chase got home Thursday morning at 12:30am and proceeded to wake the whole house! Dogs barking, riling them up to run around the house and jump on and off beds at high speed. UGH!!!!
Anyway, life is okay I stared helping Stacy sew Irish dance dresses this Wednesday. That is fun and scary as these dresses are soooo complicated. If I get good enough maybe she will be able to crank out a few dresses a month instead of one. The dresses are scary to make because some of the fabric she uses costs hundreds of dollars. It's pretty amazing! Check out her website: byauntstacy.com The dresses are amazing.
Ryan is doing better in school but still just trying to get by and not really working up to his potential. Corey is very homesick. Probably because she is talking to all of her friends that keep coming home and because Chase was out there two times last week and the boyfriend came out for the weekend. So she is going to come home on Oct. 15th. Yeah I do miss her and so does Ryan. I know Chase misses her because he was stalking her on the college skyline website to see how she is doing in volleyball. He makes me show him stuff about her on facebook too. lol.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

TGIF

Well it's Friday and the end of the week. YEAH!!! Chase is coming home from flying we have no football today and soccer was canceled. But guess what today is???? B U N C O night! Woohoo! Ladies night out. Can't wait to go and hang with friends and play bunco and drink a little of this and a little of that. :-) Had a great day today. Received another inspection so we have a total of 13 for the month. Which is good for us. Booked the boyfriend a ticket to go see Corey. Sent a package to Andres and various other errands. Saw people I knew everywhere I went! Thank god I put make up on and took a shower. Usually when I don't do that I run into someone I know everywhere I go.
Still haven't really heard from Corey. I know she is doing good from talking to her friends. Cory #2 picked Ryan up from school today and took him to subway then came home and played video games for a while. That was really nice cuz Ryan needs someone to look up to.
I received the new Uppercase Living catalog in the mail today. It has a lot of interesting ideas for the holidays in it. I think I am going to do a make it and take it party. See if that boosts sales.
Have to take Ryan to a birthday party tonight on the way to bunco then pick him up on the way home at 11. His friends are all turning 13. Some of them have already turned 13 but he won't until next year.
Hopefully Chase will be flying more. I feel like if he's not flying he is going to be laid off soon so the more he flies the better. He just picked up the second G4 and flew it to NY. Now the on call 24-7 really starts. Hopefully we won't be busy with inspections next month.
The weekend begins!!

Monday mornings

Well it's monday morning the start of a new week. This week looks very promising. Chase is off to do an inspection. We have another inspection scheduled for tomorrow. Bright and early again. Chase's mom and dad are coming into town again to say good bye to Corey before she leaves for school. Chase is leaving for NY tomorrow after his inspection. The flying begins again.
I have to get Corey packing. I think we have bought enough stuff for her to have her own apartment. She isn't allowing anyone in the suite to buy anything. She feels that she has to buy it all. Her roommate that she will be sharing one of the rooms with seems pretty nice and is on the volleyball team with her. She is getting the rug for their bedroom and bath. Corey keeps putting off packing because I think it is starting to worry her about leaving. She would actually have to leave the BF(boyfriend).
Ryan has football today. I think he is going to melt with the heat today. I have to make sure he drinks a lot of water. Other than that nothing new. Have to go get ready to walk my 3 miles this morning.

Monday Morning 8-3-09

Gooooood Monday Morning!!!!!!!! Well here I sit already took the garbage out for pick up, cleaned up my emails all 58 of them, answered the phone for work and getting ready to jump in the shower to start my day. Chase is finally back to flying. Thank God! Not because I love my alone time but because he has a job. After hearing that more people we know have been laid off again and some for the first time after 15 years with the same company and for no apparent reason. It's kind of scary because pilots are usually the first to go in a company. The russian isn't flying that much anymore. Which is kind of sad because I wanted to start meeting Chase places with Ryan. With Corey at school it will be easier to do.
We take Corey to school the 14th to get to New York on the 15th. Have already gone and bought all the necesities like shampoo, bedding and such. Next we go to Ikea to get apartment stuff. Should be interesting. She has three other roomies. Should be real interesting.
Ryan started football on Saturday and now the everyday practices start. 5:30 to 7:30 for the next two weeks. This should be good for him because he has to keep his grades up.
Yesterday Karen and I went and got our nails done. Boy does it feel nice to have pretty hands again. Then we went to La Carrettas for margerita's and lunch! after that home for movie night with adults instead of kids. Well there were some kids, mine and Karens :-)
Well Bella is letting me know that it is time to eat! Gotta go before she starves ;-)

Monday Morning

Well, it's 10am and Chase just left for New York.

My Birthday! Do I get to have a day of being waited on???? ..... I have to take the mercedes to have scratches buffed out and then the inside detailed so that it will be ready for thursday.

He comes home tomorrow and then possibly leaves again Thursday the 9th. The day I have to take the mercedes to Indy to sell to the gentleman coming from Georgia. The day before the graduation party. The day his mom and dad get here to "help" me with the party. The day I am supposed to be in South Bend for my BNI meeting.

Need I say more.... and yes I am feeling sorry for myself isn't that what a blog is for? so that you can vent or tell about life?

On another happier note the 4th of July was fun even though it rained allllllll day. We set up Kathy's tent and put all the furniture under it. It's 20 feet long and fit perfectly on the downstairs patio. Had about 32 people over and most of them fit in the tent. It was a great time. Corey's friend Cory brought Ryan some fireworks and made him happy. Chase worked the grill and I got to mingle and talk to people.

Sunday was a great lazy day. Corey took the boat out with about 6 friends and Chase and I took Ryan to see Transformers. What a great movie! Shila Buff is that his name?? is sooo cute!

Well have to get back to work hopefully I will figure out how to do other things to this blog so that I can send it to people and maybe get some followers.

Have a great Day!!!!

Sunday June 7th 2009

Well it's Sunday morning and the kids are still asleep. Chase left for South Bend to place a radon machine and I of course am sitting here with a cup of coffee, the computer on my lap and a good old movie. You know the kind, a black and white turned color. If you ask my kids I watch the goofiest movies. They say this about all black and white movies but then sit there and watch them with me. My dad and I used to sit and watch black and white movies together all the time. Also, scary movies. I think that's where I get my love for them Especially on a sunday morning.

I have a funny story that happened yesterday. It's really not funny for the person it happened to but he understands. Our daughter is hanging with a boy whose name just happens to be the same as hers, Cory. Well, they were both in their cars Cory was following our Corey too closely and when she had to slam on the breaks because someone cut in front of her he rear ended her. Well this isn't the first time he's hit our Corey. A couple years back when they were actually dating he backed up his dad's truck into the back end of our 1993 Mercedes sl500 that we had just gotten. He now has two accidents on his record and they are both rear ending our daughter. There's just too much irony there and too much teasing material there. But our Corey says we can't tease him. Hopefully he's not more sensitive that Andrew was.
